Becoming an Accredited Member of AIFD®
Number one question I always get!
How do I become an AIFD member? Here’s your answer and starting point.
Visit aifd.org website and the process is explained in detail.
Anybody can apply to be a candidate to Participate in the Professional Floral Design Evaluation (PFDE) and achieve scores at the level required to receive an invitation to AIFD. However AIFD also strongly recommends you consider obtaining additional training and education prior to the PFDE such as one or more of the following (not required):
Completion of the Professional Skills Assessment (PSA) application and self-evaluation.
Completion of an approved curriculum from a private or for-profit floral design school that is an AIFD Education Partner-Yes, that’s us, Washington Flower School!
Completion of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor’s (BS) degree in floriculture or floral design from a Student American Institute of Floral Design (SAIFD) member school.
Completion of an approved curriculum from a state floral certification program.
Completion of the AIFD Online Education classes/workshops series.
** Candidates who have acquired advance floral design education have generally received higher evaluation marks during the PFDE. **
