Faculty
Terry Godfrey AIFD, CEJ, PCFI, EMC - Director, Lead Instructor
Terry is a freelance floral designer and floral educator in the Washington, DC area, who has worked with many high end event companies in the region. She has taught at Anne Arundel Community College for more than 15 years and has led workshops for the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), NC State Florists Association, Independent Floral Designers Association (IFDA), and many local garden clubs. Terry created and continues to lead an AIFD Southern Chapter mentoring program for candidates planning to take the PFDE exams. Terry has a passion for flowers and all forms of visual art. She has exhibited at the Philadelphia Flower Show several times, participated on a float for the Rose Parade, and has created several Art in Bloom exhibition pieces.
Terry is very dedicated to service to the industry. She is currently chair of AIFD’s National Membership Committee and has taken lead roles in the administration of the national certification exam (PFDE) since 2022. She has served as president for AIFD’s Southern Regional Chapter and for the Independent Floral Designer Association in MD, as well as many board and committee chair roles with floral design organizations.
Lisa Ruf CFD, EMC - Instructor
Lisa Ruf EMC, CFD, is a native Washingtonian who views floral design as her encore career. After a successful stint in foreign military sales and IT, she started her business, Goodness Gracious Florals as a creative outlet while raising her twin boys.
In 2003, Lisa shared her passion for flowers, designing weddings and events for friends and work colleagues, which great into a successful boutique floral studio. Lisa continues to learn, teach, grow, and perfect her craft for the old guard and avant-garde. Her tagline, “Goodness Gracious Gorgeous” reflects her attention to detail and commitment to creating one-of-a-kind experiences for her clients.
Jeanne Ha, AIFD, CFD - Founder
Jeanne owned a successful retail florist, Park Florist, for more than two decades. She has been a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers since 2010, as well as a certified floral designer by AIFD. Jeanne has won many awards including the Capital Cup, Middle Atlantic Florists Association Competitions, Potomac Floral Wholesale Design Competition and Sylvia Cup. She also presents her design programs for industry groups or garden clubs in local and national levels. Jeanne served various leadership positions in the industry such as Teleflora unit president, board member, AIFD international committee member. Her designs have been featured in numerous national industry magazines.
